Anger Management Tips

1.    Acknowledge that you have a Problem

If you find it hard to deal with your anger, the first thing you need to do is to be honest with yourself and admit that you have a problem. Then make a plan to deal with it.

2. Exercise Your Support Network
Let the trustworthy people in your life know regarding the changes that you're trying to make. They can encourage and support you if you drop into old behaviors.

3. Break off the Anger Cycle

When you start to feel angry, try the following techniques:
·         Say "Stop!" at full volume in your thoughts. This can disrupt the anger cycle.
·         Use bodily relaxation techniques like deep breathing 
·         Count up to 20 before you respond.
·         Manage your harmful thoughts with imagery and positive thinking.
·         Shut your office door or find a quiet space, and meditate for 5 minutes.
·         Divert yourself from your anger, go on your favorite website, and daydream about a hobby that you enjoy, or take a walk.

4. Try Empathy

If someone is the cause of your anger, use empathy to handle the situation from his/ her perspective.
Everyone makes mistakes, and it is via mistakes that people got lesson how to improve.
5.Imagine "Happy place"

To calm down angry feelings imagine yourself in a scene you find extremely relaxing. It could be your childhood memories, a silent forest, and a lonely island. Deeply focus on imagining every beauty of that place: the colors, the beams, the voices, the warmth, the climate, and the aroma. Keep dwelling on your happy situate until you feel completely absorbed in it, and stay out there for a few minutes or till you feel calm. 
6.See the Humor in Your Anger

Learn to laugh at your own and do not get everything seriously. The next time when you feel tempted to lash out; try to observe the humor in your expressions of anger. One way to do this is to catastrophize the situation


7.Exercise

Regular exercise can help you relax in tense conditions. When feasible, go for a walk, or stretch and breathe deeply


8. Get enough sleep and healthy diet

You will also feel more relaxetion when you get sufficent sleep and eat a healthy diet.

9. Plenty of water

Dehydration can often direct to irritability too, so stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking lot of water.
